Support for Jamie (Kidney Failure & ANCA)
Donation protected
On 5/22/2023 Jamie went to the ER with difficulty breathing. Within hours, she was informed she was in kidney failure, with kidney test result numbers to an extent many of the nurses/doctors had never seen before. In addition to the kidney failure, Jamie also began bleeding in her lungs.
With a team of specialists working hard together, Jamie has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease ANCA Vasculitis, with uncertainty if her kidneys will return to normal function. She is currently still in the hospital, navigating dialysis, plasma treatments, and infusion treatments, working on getting her breathing back and trying to get strong enough to go home.
For the foreseeable future, Jamie has had long term dialysis ports put in to continue dialysis appointments outpatient once she is discharged while we wait to see if her kidneys return to normal function. Her rheumatologists have submitted approval for a new drug to see if it will help the autoimmune go into remission. We have been told it is expensive and will need to be taken daily. At this point, she is uncertain if this medication will be covered or even work for her. Any donation towards expenses helps. Thank you!
