Jamie and Rick Davidson recently relocated to West Point, NY after living and teaching military dependents in Germany for many years.  During Christmas break they drove to Kansas to be with family with their newly adopted rescue dog, Bella in tow.   While in Kansas, Rick suffered a very serious stroke that sent him to the ICU.  He underwent numerous tests and procedures as the stroke impacted him significantly. He was unable to breathe, eat, or speak on his own.  All the while, Jamie was by his side.  Since the hospital was not close enough to relatives for daily visits, when she wan't staying overnight at the hospital, Jamie was staying at a nearby hotel.  Their dog, Bella (who is very attached to Rick, and he to her), was  staying in a boarding facility.  Rick is now in a rehab facility in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Each day he receives intensive treatment from OT, PT, ST, etc., in the hopes that he will regain some mobility and independence.  At this point it looks like there is a long road ahead of them.  Jamie is currently staying in a hotel nearby the rehab, with Bella being boarded at a training/boarding facility.  These are numerous added expenses on top of the medical bills, Jamie's loss of income while she is out of work, and having to pay for rent and utilities on their home in New York.  If you are able, please help.  No amount is too small.  If you are unable to assist financially, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they face this enormous challenge.
