James, affectionately known as “Tator” in our community, has always been the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. Alongside his wife, they ran a beloved local cafe and food truck, making friends wherever they went. But now, they’re facing a challenge that’s turned their world upside down. A few years ago, James was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency. Over the past month, his health has declined rapidly. He’s had to stop working as a school bus driver, and the new treatments he’s on come with harsh side effects. His wife has become his full-time caregiver, which means she can’t work either. Their only income is long-term disability, which barely covers the insurance James needs to keep. As bills pile up and their savings dwindle, they’re struggling to keep their family home and meet daily expenses, adding even more uncertainty to their future. James and his wife are incredibly proud people who would never ask for help themselves. But right now, they need the support of the community they’ve always given so much to. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help them cover insurance, the mortgage, bills, and daily essentials—giving them hope and stability during this difficult time. Thank you for considering a donation to help two wonderful people who have always put others first. You can send directly to their cashapp or Venmo which is in the pictures.
