Help Sharons Fight Stage 4 Lymphoma

Hello, my name is James, and I’m an active-duty service member in the U.S. military. I’m writing today with a heavy yet hopeful heart on behalf of my mother-in-law, Sharon de Jesus, a strong and loving woman who is currently in the fight of her life against stage 4 Type B lymphoma.

Sharon is a 65-year-old woman whose life has been built on compassion, family, and a commitment to serving others. She has spent the past 15 years working as an accountant for a local title company on the island of Guam. Beyond her career, she finds her greatest joy in being part of her church community and spending meaningful time with her children and grandchildren.

Sharon’s life has never been easy, but her resilience has always shone through. In 2010, her husband abandoned her and their three children without support--no formal separation, no spousal or child support, and the heartbreak of losing their home to foreclosure. Despite the emotional and financial devastation, Sharon never wavered. She worked multiple jobs, carried the weight of tuition, rent, and bills, all while nurturing her children and holding her family together with grace.

In mid-2024, Sharon began experiencing persistent shoulder and back pain. Over time, the discomfort spread to her arms, causing numbness and loss of mobility. Despite seeking care from her primary doctor, chiropractor, and physical therapist, her condition worsened. By January 2025, her right lymph node was visibly swollen, and even basic daily activities became painful. Her presence at church became minimal, and she couldn’t spend time with her granddaughter, two things she cherished deeply.

Through it all, cancer was never suspected. Sharon had no family history of cancer, and numerous tests—including MRIs, biopsies, and lab work—returned inconclusive. But on March 13, everything changed. An MRI revealed multiple lesions and cancerous growths across her neck, shoulders, and spine. The diagnosis: Stage 4 lymphoma.

Due to the limited cancer treatment options on Guam—where only one oncologist serves the entire island—Sharon was referred to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, Philippines, where she is now receiving urgent chemotherapy.

Her condition is aggressive, and so is the treatment. Unfortunately, the prescribed medication is a new, life-saving drug. Combined with hospital stays, diagnostics, and travel expenses, the cost of care has become expensive.

Sharon is the heart of our family—a selfless mother to three amazing children and a proud grandmother to three little ones, with another grandbaby on the way. Her love, faith, and quiet strength have touched every one of us. She has always been the one to give without condition, to show kindness to others in distress—now we ask for your help to lift her.
We are humbly asking for your prayers, your support, and your generosity. Every donation, no matter the size, brings Sharon one step closer to healing. If you're unable to give, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who might be able to.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us during this fight. We believe in Sharon's strength. We believe in the power of community. And with your help, we believe in hope.

With gratitude,
James & Family
