My nephew Jalil’s life changed in an instant when he became the innocent victim of random gunfire, suffering a traumatic brain injury. This unimaginable event has left him facing a long and difficult road to recovery, far from home and the support of his loved ones. As Jalil begins his journey of healing, he will need to overcome not only the physical and emotional challenges, but also the financial burdens that come with such a life-altering event.

Once Jalil is released from the hospital, he will have significant travel expenses, as this tragedy happened out of his home state. The rehabilitation process ahead will be lengthy and demanding, requiring ongoing medical care and therapy. Jalil will also need support for his children, as he will not be able to work for some time. Covering rent, bills, and daily living expenses will be a struggle, and our family is doing everything we can to help him focus on his recovery without the added stress of financial worries.
