On the early morning of January 4th, our family experienced a devastating and unimaginable loss. My daughter lost her fiancé, and four beautiful children lost their devoted father. Jalen tragically lost his life while trying to help his brother during a violent altercation. His life was taken far too soon.

Jalen and my daughter, Lakaela, shared four precious children: Kassius (7), Kaison (5), and twins Jaela and Jalen Jr. (19 months). Their youngest and only daughter was truly the light of his life. Jalen was an exceptional man—selfless, loving, and deeply committed to his family. He was a hands-on father who worked tirelessly to provide, protect, and be present for his children. Family meant everything to him.

As a mother and grandmother, my heart will be forever broken watching my daughter grieve the love of her life and seeing four innocent children face a future without their father.
