Because I know the last thing this super mom will do is ask for help.
Jagger is a very special 4yr old boy. Jagger is my best friends son. Talor and Jared are his amazing parents and Brecken is his beautiful older sister. This family has always been there for me, ever since I met them. I want to do what I can to be there for them during this difficult time. Jagger fell a few months back at the pump track and banged up his jaw pretty bad. By the grace of god, they ended up doing some scans at the ER that ultimately revealed a cyst in his brain. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. This was pure proof of that.
They did some further tests and seen a specialist. The plan was to keep a close eye on the cyst and Jagger and go from there. Fast forward to a week or so ago...Jagger started really expressing, even more so then he had been over the last few months, about a lot of pain and discomfort in his eyes and headaches. He got extremely nauseous and was very sick. Talor stuck to her mom gut and rushed him to the ER. They transported him to Rady’s and did further testing. This testing showed the growth in Jaggers cyst in his brain.
here is an update in Talors words.
“***long overdue Jagger update*** I know everyone has been asking for an update but I didn’t want to give one until we had a plan for the next steps. Today we met with the neurosurgeon at Rady’s. He wants to go in and do surgery within the next two weeks. The surgery will consist of them cutting 5-6 inches on the right side of his hair line by his side burn, they will remove part of the skull and expose the cyst, they will then remove the part of the cyst that isn’t touching his brain and the part of the cyst that is touching the brain they will drill holes into the cyst so that the fluid absorbs into his normal brain fluid. He says that us doing surgery now is better and less invasive than waiting 6 months or longer, if we were to wait the symptoms that Jagger could develop would be seizures, confusion and loss of consciousness, plus the symptoms he’s already having. . We don’t have the actual surgery date as they have to make a 3D model of his brain that they use as a guide for the surgery but dr said it will be within the next 2 weeks. Jagger truly is one of the strongest kids I know, I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason and him falling that day at the pump track was the reason we were able to find out about his cyst. I am relieved that we will hopefully be closing this chapter and my baby can get back to being a normal 4 year old, but on the other side I’m terrified. I’m scared shitless that my baby will be undergoing a major brain surgery. We will be praying for a successful surgery, steady hands and knowledge of our surgeon and his team.”
I want to first of all thank you all for reading into Jaggers story. Even if you are unable to donate please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I know Talor and Jared would never ask for this help so I want to do it for them. Neither of them know I created this. Talor has already taken many days off work and will need to take even more during this time as well as after surgery. If you are able and want to help it would be greatly appreciated. Money doesn’t fix things but if it will lessen the huge amount of stress from this wonderful family, that’s enough for me to step up and ask for the help for them.
These funds will go directly to Talor and Jared to help with any medical costs insurance won’tcover and the loss of time at work for both of them.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and Thank you from The Sass Family.
