Jade Duchene is my niece, and she is a beautiful person inside and out who means the world to our family. At just 32 years old, Jade has been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She and her partner, Josh, are raising their 10-year-old son, Beau, and both work full time to provide for their family. Jade is a dedicated employee at a physician’s office, and Josh works hard to support their household as well. Despite their efforts, the financial strain of Jade’s diagnosis has been overwhelming.

Jade’s journey has already brought significant challenges. She has accrued medical debt just from diagnostic procedures, even before her insurance coverage begins. Now, she faces a long road ahead with upcoming chemotherapy, a radical mastectomy, and radiation treatments. There may also be reconstructive surgery in the future. The costs of these treatments, combined with everyday living expenses, have created a heavy burden for Jade and her family.
