My name is Daniel Eggers and I am a co-owner, along with Will Turner, of a local restaurant here in Tuscaloosa AL. At around 3PM today I received a text from Will saying that his neighbor Jacob Parris, who happens to be one of his best friends, died in a motorcycle accident on 43. I have known Jacob and Courtney Parris for 4 years. In that time, I have learned that Jacob was one of the most helpful and caring fathers, friends and husbands anyone could ask for. The reason we are setting up this gofundme is that Jacob was unable to secure large amounts of life insurance due to preexisting conditions. As a disabled veteran, I know this pain too well and completely empathize with this situation as it is a daunting and scary place to be. Jacob leaves behind a beautiful family who needs to be uplifted and need not worry about the day to day financial struggles during this time. I will quote below what Mindy Turner, Jacob's next door neighbor and friend had to say:

"We moved to Tuscaloosa 7 ears ago. It was a tough transition but after the first year we moved into the house we are currenly in. Along came new neighbors. This guy named Jacob came over to introduce himself and his then girlfriend Courtney. From firs meeting to yesterday when we talked....he has remained the best neighbor our family has ever known. He was generous with his time. He'd always stop what he was doing to listen or talk. He loved my children but he really, really loved his children fiercely and they loved their daddy so much. ... I got to watch him become a fiance and a husband and what a great love story he and Courtney have. I got to see the world through his eyes as a neighbor! He was wild and free and he was raw and real! He had a passionate love for his hobbies and would discuss them with a child-like excitement! To say our family is devastated would be a gross understatement of loss! This loss is more than a loss. Please join me in praying for Courtney and Summer, Ally, Andrew and Savannah and all of their family! The guy was loved well and will be missed beyond words."
