As the South Sudanese Youth Association (SSYA), we are deeply saddened and heartbroken as we write this. We are raising funds to help lay to rest our beloved brother, friend, and team leader, Jackson Chuar a young man whose presence brought light into every room he entered.
Jackson was more than a member of SSYA. He was one of the hearts of our community. He helped bring South Sudanese youth together, encouraged unity, and supported the foundation of our organization with passion and love. He had a rare gift he made people feel seen, welcomed, and valued from the very first moment they met him. His smile, his kindness, his gentle spirit… these are things we will never forget.
Friday morning, Jackson left home early, and when he didn’t return, worry quickly turned into fear. His family reached out to friends, and eventually the police were contacted. Hours felt like days as we all searched and prayed for his safety. Later, when a body was discovered near his home and confirmed to be Jackson, our entire community fell into grief. An investigation into what happened is still ongoing, and we are holding onto hope for answers.
Jackson lived with his mother and sister two people who loved him beyond words and who are now facing a pain no family should ever have to experience. Their loss is unimaginable. Their home, once filled with his laughter and his presence, is now unbearably quiet.
As a community, we refuse to let them carry this burden alone.
We are asking for your support your compassion, your generosity, your prayers to help us give Jackson the dignified, love-filled farewell he deserves. All funds raised will go directly toward funeral arrangements, burial or cremation costs, memorial services, and helping his grieving family in this devastating time.
If you are able, please donate. If you cannot donate, please share. Every act of kindness will help honor Jackson’s memory and show his family that they are not alone.
Jackson, we will carry your light in our hearts forever.
May your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
