Support for Jackie’s Family

Jackie is a courageous six-year-old boy tenaciously fighting relapsed leukemia. He is a feisty, funny, and kindhearted son who deeply loves his mum, dad, little brother Georgie, and baby sister Charlotte. Jackie impressed everyone with his positive progress through extensive treatment during his two year battle by remaining brave and resilient.

Unfortunately, Jackie’s prognosis has become dire. The family is incredibly grateful for the wonderful care he receives at BC Children’s Hospital as the team attempts groundbreaking last-shot treatments to save his life.

Jackie has only had 23 nights at home since September and none since early December. His devoted parents Mike and Eliza Casagrande take turns spending alternate days and nights with Jackie to ensure he has family by his side 24/7. Jackie’s grandmother, Christine, has traveled from Australia to help with the younger siblings and running the household. Finding opportunities for the family to be together has been challenging.

The funds raised will assist the family with childcare expenses for Charlotte and Georgie, and to help create memories with Jackie. Your donations will enable Mike and Eliza to continue to spend as much time as possible with Jackie. While he is not expected to be discharged from hospital, his treatment may allow for some day passes. Your contributions will make it possible to provide Jackie with some of his favourite meals and bucket list experiences.
