On November 18, 2018, Jackie Williams, teacher of Infants at Bright Horizons at the United Nations Child Care Center, was hospitalized with a serious health condition. To date, she is minimally responsive and non-verbal.   Jackie has been a beloved member of the UN family since 2016.  She is best known for caring not only for her infants, but the entire UNCCC teaching team:  arriving early every day to set up her classroom and lend a hand to other teachers, and just being there, sitting in the staff room for those few quiet minutes before families arrive, a pair of ears and open heart for anyone who wants to join her.  Also, it’s unanimous:  Ms. Jackie makes the best playdough!  Her absence at the center is felt every day, all day, by children, staff and parents.  A note from Jackie’s family: 

Thank you for checking in and sharing your beautiful demonstrations of love and caring through email and calls and for your desire to sponsor a fundraiser to assist with Jackie's medical care. We are humbled and grateful to be at the receiving end of such a kind and caring community and  that Jackie is receiving the best possible care.  As you can imagine, this process is very challenging for our entire family. However, along with our steadfast faith, the attentiveness, love and concern of the staff and families of UNCCC Bright Horizons makes it a little easier.  Please tell the parents of the UNCCC children to hug them tight for Jackie.  Your consistent care and assistance have been invaluable.

This is, of course,  perhaps the toughest time of year for any family to be faced with such a situation, and we are asking that the Bright Horizons families join us in providing as much support as possible as medical invoices have already begun to crop up.
