Posting on behalf of the Jacqueline "Jackie" Griffin-Allmond family. Please, take a minute and read their ask:
Jacqueline "Jackie" Griffin-Allmond is an extraordinary individual with a compassionate heart and a plethora of talents. Her greatest strength lies in her unwavering love for God and her unyielding desire to assist those in need, particularly children. Her childhood was marked by an abundance of unconditional love, and she grew up with eight siblings in a home that was both strict and God-fearing due to her mother's guidance. Nevertheless, Jackie and her family went through a significant transformation after her father's passing when she was only seven years old. Despite facing some challenges as she grew up, Jackie's life was filled with laughter and joy.
For over two decades, Jacqueline excelled in her career at The College of William & Mary, where she worked as an Office Manager and Fiscal Technician for the Office of Multicultural Affairs. In addition, she acted as a parental figure to students who were away from home and required assistance.
Unfortunately, Jacqueline has been through a great deal in the past 18 months. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the church she had attended her whole life tore down her house because she spoke out regarding systemic issues that the church leadership did not want to address. Jackie had invested her tithes, offerings, to the church and personal funds in building her home, on the church owned farm worth millions and was situated on church property where other members resided. She had lived in this home for over 31 years and had raised her three children here. Over time, the house had become worn and old, so she made improvements by adding a mini apartment with one bedroom, one bathroom, a mini kitchen, and a laundry room. The Gospel Spreading Church Farm in Williamsburg, VA, where Jackie lived, is enormous.
As a result of the situation, Jackie suffered several mini-strokes, which her family was unaware of until her son witnessed a major stroke in January 2023, followed by another minor stroke in June 2023. She had to move to a nursing facility, where she required a nurse's care daily, due to the stress of the situation.
Jacqueline moved into the nursing care facility in February 2023 after rehabilitation, where she currently resides. Her family assisted her financially by dispersing her remaining funds to cover her monthly rent. She also had a part-time job that provided additional income to help her make ends meet. However, her family did not inform her of her financial status, and her disposable funds were depleted quickly. Her children recently discovered that she owes $22,000 to the nursing facility where she resides. Her daughter is now managing Jacqueline's funds, which come from Social Security and Retirement. The nursing facility is attempting to lower Jacqueline's monthly rent from $4,800 to $3,000 so that they can balance their books. However, they still require assistance in paying off the $22,000 debt. If you find it in your heart to contribute to this wonderful mother, grandmother, and woman of God, please do so. Your donation would be greatly appreciated.
