Our son Izaiah has been sick consistently for the last couple months, and it has been a difficult journey trying to understand what was causing his symptoms. He started with a right leg limp and fevers, which were initially linked to a positive strep throat test and then RSV. As time went on, we noticed his lymph nodes around his chin and neck began to swell, which led us to being directly admitted to the hospital. There, his white blood cell count was found to be critically high. We were transferred to the hematology-oncology unit, where our son was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia). He is currently admitted and preparing to begin chemotherapy.

Through it all, Izaiah has shown incredible strength and courage. He is truly a warrior, facing each day with bravery and resilience that inspires us and everyone around him. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down, but we are doing everything we can to support Izaiah through his treatment, and his fighting spirit gives us hope.
