Hi, my name is Elsie, and I am fundraising for my mother, Isabel, and step-dad, Tim. They suffered a tragedy as someone vandalized their home in Texas and lit it on fire; it will need to be demolished and rebuilt. They lost everything, including their beloved dog, Ginger. This is so heartbreaking!
I want to ask my community for financial donations to help them to feel safe, comforted, and taken care of today and as we approach the holidays. Any money raised will allow them to purchase the essentials; clothes, winter gear, furniture, food, and much more. They do have insurance and it should help, but the costs to replace their life will be much higher.
My mom has had a hard life, having lost my brother in 1996 and my sister just recently in January of 2020. She has had to live through the unimaginable, losing not 1 but 2 children. And now she has lost all physical items, many irreplaceable; photos of my brother, ashes of my sister, handmade items just for her, some family photos that were proudly hung up through the years, amongst so many other things. She is also a cancer survivor and a true warrior in my eyes. I can't even imagine what she is feeling, and if I could hug and hold her from California, I would.
My mom and Tim have fostered many kids and have shown them love, discipline, and care, day in and day out. As you can see in the photo, my girls and I visited Texas last year, and the last night we were there, Tim and their four foster kids played a concert for us. Tim bought them instruments and sheet music months prior and helped them to learn to play. The backyard concert was magical; it brought tears to my eyes to see the love poured into these kids.
If you can donate any amount, it will be much appreciated. If you feel it in your heart to share this fundraiser, please do.
I believe that together we can show them the power of community.
