Isaac has never had an easy day. Since he was a baby, something just hasn’t added up. He was such a happy baby—until he wasn’t. His need to eat constantly, every 2–3 hours even through the night, just to stay stable, was exhausting for all of us. Even then, feeding him was a constant battle to console him. We’ve spent months in and out of hospitals, running tests, searching for answers. Despite everything, we still don’t have a clear diagnosis—but we do know this: Isaac needs more support than his body can manage on its own. His body will need constant nutrition and medical monitoring for the rest of his life. Without it, his body will enter ketosis leading to acidosis, which has already almost killed him once.

Now, Isaac is facing a big step forward—he needs a G-tube so we can keep him safe and properly nourished. Because of the complexity of his condition, we have to relocate to Portland for 8 weeks for his surgery and recovery. This means being away from home, covering food, travel, a new “normal” life, and stepping away from work to care for him full-time. We’ve done everything we can to manage this on our own, but we’ve reached a point where we truly need help.
