Isaac Portillo is my friend from NJROTC and school. We’ve spent a lot of time together, skating and having good talks, and I’ve seen firsthand what a kind and resilient person he is. Two years ago, Isaac was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma. After months of chemotherapy, he was able to beat it, and we were all so relieved. But in January 2026, the cancer came back, this time affecting his lungs and taking a toll on his emotions.

This diagnosis has changed so much for Isaac. It’s been harder for him to do the things he loves, like skating and hanging out with friends, and it’s been tough on his family too. They’re struggling to cover basic life expenses while supporting Isaac through treatment.
