Support for Isa Obando’s Recovery
On her way home to Paducah, Kentucky, for Christmas break, after completing her first semester as a freshman at Western Kentucky University, Isa Obando, a 2024 graduate of McCracken County High School, was involved in a serious car accident. Isa and her friend Jeslee hit black ice and were struck by oncoming traffic after crossing to the other side of the interstate. Both girls were severely injured in the crash.
Isa sustained multiple injuries, including a shattered pelvis, broken tailbone, fractured ribs, a deflated lung, and a ruptured bladder. Most seriously, Isa currently has no movement in her legs. Isa is currently at Louisville Medical Center, as she is beginning what will be an extensive recovery process.
Isa will spend at least a month in rehabilitation, working to regain movement in her legs, followed by many months of physical therapy and recovery. All of this comes just as she was preparing to celebrate Christmas with her family after her first semester in college.
The Obando family will be facing significant expenses — medical bills, travel costs, hotel stays, food, and more — as Isa continues her journey toward healing. Your support, prayers, and donations will go directly toward helping Isa and her loved ones during this challenging road ahead.
Any contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Thank you for standing with Isa and her family during this time.
Please keep Isa and Jeslee in your thoughts and prayers as they work toward recovery.
