We are kindly asking for support and solidarity for a Black immigrant-owned small business located in Minneapolis. The owner has been proudly serving his community via farmers markets and storefront since 2020, and is incredibly passionate about what he does and the wellbeing of his community.
Due to current safety concerns in the Twin Cities, immigrant-owned small businesses have been unable to continue with business as usual. Because of this, many have experienced significant ongoing financial losses due to being out of work, having to make the difficult choice between supporting themselves and protecting themselves – this is one of those cases.
This small business owner is currently in between storefront locations due to the negligence of his previous landlord, and he has made the difficult decision to step back from selling and production altogether for over a month now for the safety of himself and his family during this uncertain time.
All funds raised will go directly towards covering lost income for this small local business during this time. This will allow the owner the time he needs to find a new storefront location for selling and production, as well as returning to farmers markets with his son to sell his products as safety allows.
The fundraiser is being organized by a trusted community member on their behalf, and 100% of proceeds will be transferred directly to the business owner.
A note from the organizer: A sincere thank you for any support you can give during this time. This small business owner has poured SO much love into our community and now is our time to give that love right back!
