Support for Idalid

Hello. With gratitude and optimism, I reach out to the community on behalf of Idalid Escobedo.

In September 2023 Idalid was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer while 6 months pregnant. Idalid is a friend of the community. Always quick to help share her skills and bring people together. Along with her partner Marquise, and her eldest son who is 14. They had been so excited to be expecting their 2nd child. However, the cancer was and is still aggressive and she needed to make complicated decisions quickly as they grew worried for the safety of her then unborn daughter and the safety of Idalid herself. They chose to induce 8 weeks early and a healthy baby girl was born.

Idalid has had 3 surgeries and has completed many rounds of Chemo and Radiation Therapy. The emotional, physical, financial and spiritual stress of caring for her newborn child and family while battling this aggressive cancer is immense.

The financial burden only amplifies all these stressors. Idalid is unable to work, and Marquise has to juggle working intermittently while also ensuring his family’s needs are met.

Due to health and mental concerns, she couldn't continue with chemotherapy. She now is turning to holistic care as it better aligns with her beliefs and her roots.

Any money raised will assist in:

• Medical expenses not covered by insurance along with deductibles.

• Holistic Treatment not covered by insurance

• Medications

• Living expenses
