We are heartbroken to share the passing of Ibrahim Conteh, a 12th grade student at Thomas Edison EnergySmart Charter High School in Somerset, New Jersey. Ibrahim passed away on Monday, March 9th at just 18 years old. His loss has deeply impacted our school community, where he had been a part of the TEECS family for the past 10 years.

Ibrahim was a bright and thoughtful young man with an imaginative spirit. He had big dreams for his future and planned to attend college to pursue studies in both the STEM and linguistics fields. Known for his creativity and curiosity, Ibrahim loved playing video games and often brought that same inventive thinking into conversations with his peers and teachers. Over the years, Ibrahim formed meaningful friendships and left a lasting impression on those around him. His kindness, quiet determination, and unique perspective made him a valued member of the TEECS community.

Ibrahim is survived by his loving family and the many friends, classmates, and educators who had the privilege of knowing him. During this incredibly difficult time, we are raising funds to support Ibrahim’s family with burial and memorial service expenses, and to provide some financial relief as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
