Support for Howard and Debbie Bailey.
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Skye, Donelda and Tina. We are the daughter and friends of Howard and Debbie Bailey. As some of you may know Howard Bailey, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend and a long time resident of Prince Rupert, where he worked for the city for over 40 years, was diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Howard had been experiencing severe back pain for many months. When he was finally sent for a CT scan, the results were not anything any of us had imagined. Howard was diagnosed with a very large abdominal aortic aneurysm. Two weeks after his CT scan, February 16th, 2024 he was having surgery in Vancouver with his wife Debbie by his side. This was no small surgery, but if everything went accordingly he was supposed to be home after two weeks at max.
However this is not the case. Howard unfortunately had several complications with this surgery. Some of the complications being internal bleeding, multiple blood clots in his right leg to his foot and blood transfusions. These complications lead to another surgery of his stomach. During the course of a month Howard went through 6 surgeries which led to him to be in an induced coma, under intensive care for multiple weeks. Howard will be in a Vancouver hospital for an unknown amount of time, as one of his complications is leading him to have his foot amputated. Everything he has been through is going to require a continued hospital stay, persistence, rehab assistance and a lot of love.
As one would expect this is a huge, unexpected financial hardship for anyone to go through. We are asking friends and family who have the means, to help support them and allow Debbie to continue to stay by Howard's side through this difficult time.
If anyone would like to donate but wants to do so in a different manner, please contact Skye, Donelda or Tina personally!
We would also like to thank you for taking the time to read Howard's story and for any donations made. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
