Support for Honoring Larry Epright #20

Donation protected
On Tuesday, June 24th, 2025, at approximately 9:15 PM, Larry Epright called his daughter, Trisha, to ask for help getting to the emergency room because he was struggling to breathe. Trisha arrived at his home within three minutes of his call and found him in severe distress. Trisha immediately called 911.

The paramedics arrived at his home, stabilized him, and began transporting him to the hospital with no lights or sirens, with Trisha following closely behind in her car. Trisha became alarmed when she saw the ambulance turn on their lights and sirens and noticed a paramedic working over her father during transport. It was later revealed to Trisha that during the ride to the emergency room, Larry suffered a cardiac arrest.

Larry received life-saving measures in the ambulance and again upon arrival at the emergency room. Trisha, along with her daughter, Kayla, waited anxiously in the emergency waiting area until they were informed that Larry had been stabilized but remained unresponsive. He was then transferred to another hospital, where he has been unresponsive and on life support since the incident.

On Friday, June 27th, 2025, Trisha and Kayla met with the neurologist, who regrettably informed them that Larry had suffered a severe global brain hypoxic injury. They were told that the likelihood of Larry regaining consciousness was extremely low, and if he did wake up, he would likely experience significant deficits and need 24/7 nursing care. On Saturday, June 28th, 2025, Trisha met with Larry’s immediate family to share the news about his chances of recovery.
On Sunday, June 29th, 2025, Trisha spoke with the hospital administration and initiated the organ donation process, as Larry is a registered organ donor. On June 30th, 2025, testing for organ donation was completed, and it appears that Larry will be donating his liver and kidneys. Organ donation is currently set for Thursday, July 3rd, 2025. Larry will be receiving an organ donor honor walk surrounded by family, friends, and hospital staff.

The 4th of July has always been a significant celebration for the Epright and Ide family, and now they hope that Larry’s organ donation will bring a new celebration for several other families in need. On a side note, anyone who was planning to watch the parade at Larry’s house on Sunday is now invited to watch the parade with his daughter and grandkids at Trisha’s house. There will be more information about that posted on Larry’s Facebook.

This situation was both unexpected and unfortunate, leaving Trisha and Kory with challenges they hadn't planned for. They are truly grateful for the overwhelming support and love they, along with Larry, have received during this difficult time. To help cover several unforeseen expenses (cremation, celebration of life, time off work, etc.) arising from this event, this GoFundMe campaign has been established.
