Support for Hongjun Choi's Family

For Hongjun’s Family.

We are deeply saddened to share that one of our alumni, Hongjun Choi (Ph.D., Computer Science, Purdue, 2022), passed away on November 7th, leaving behind his beloved wife, Eunhye Kim (Ph.D., Engineering Education, Purdue, 2024), and little son, Sunwoo. Hongjun was recently diagnosed with lung cancer which, despite his strength and bravery, progressed rapidly.

During his eight years at Purdue, Hongjun made invaluable contributions to the fields of security and reliability for autonomous cyber-physical systems (CPS), evidenced by numerous top-tier papers (https://hongjun9.github.io/). Needless to say, the loss is big and profound to all of us.

We are here standing together to support his family during this difficult time. This fundraiser will directly assist his wife and son so they can cover the medical expenses and manage to sustain. In honoring Hongjun’s legacy, we want to show that the Purdue community stands united and supportive in care, compassion and love.
