Hello, my name is Eric. I have created this fundraiser for my grandparents who have recently lost their house and almost all of their animals in a destructive fire.
I want to start with a little story about these two wonderful people and what they are all about. My grandmother, Holly Ault, is a loving, caring woman who would give you the shoes off her feet just because she thought you'd need them more. She never has said no to a hungry stomach and always smiled when helping others, even when it meant she'd go without. Now, my grandfather, Rick Ault, this man is a good father and a wonderful grandpa. He has taught all of us so much about the world and a lot more on how to fix almost anything around the house and car. If it broke, he would sure enough fix it, all the while teaching us how. Both of these people are as caring and jolly as they come. My grandma spent a lot of her time with her animals. She loved to help those kitties in need. She had 8—phew, that's a lot to some, but man did she love all of them. She fed and watered outdoor animals as well, she was always looking out for those critters.
But as you'd know it, those beautiful people are struggling with fighting cancer. My grandfather was in the hospital getting fluids drained from around his heart the night of the fire. Thankfully, my grandmother was with him that night. The fire had started in the kitchen around their new stove while they were at the ER. The smoke had taken most of their animals before the fire department could get there. Although they tried bravely to save the animals, they charged into the house while it was on fire and pulled every one of those critters out while they fought the fire. My grandparents had unfortunately lost 7 of those 8 cats in the fire: Merlin, Buddy, Lippy, Hunter, Mamma, Puddy, and Casper. The only survivor was a young kitty named Boo. They also had two dogs who they had lost in the fire as well. Those pups were named Riley and Harley. Both of them were long-time friends and companions of my Grandpa Rick. All of those poor babies were rescued from some unfortunate situation to come stay with those two, to be loved and be good friends with my grandparents.
I've set up this fund where everything in it will go straight to my grandmother to help ease the pain and struggle of losing everything. While all this unfolded, they had only gone to the hospital with the clothes on their back and lost absolutely everything else. The Red Cross has already started helping, but everything we can do helps get them some peace of mind and a restart of 40+ years of life and memories at that home.
Funds Donated will be sent straight to Holly Ault and be used for housing and clothes while we attempt to rebuild or move.
