Support for Hiromi Kageyama's Battle with Leukemia
Donation protected
The Kodiak Family Church is asking for prayers and support for Hiromi Kageyama as he battles Leukemia CML

Hiromi Kageyama was diagnosed this week with Leukemia CML. Luckily, he is in the Chronic phase so there is no immediate danger to his life, and these days, Leukemia CML can be treated with medicine.
Hiromi recently had four wisdom teeth removed, however, the bleeding wouldn't stop. After visiting the local Kodiak hospital three times, the doctors checked his blood and discovered his numbers were way too high. They arranged a medical plane to take Hiromi and his dad to Anchorage on Oct 20 to stop the bleeding and conduct further tests.
Hiromi and his dad are still at the hospital in Anchorage where as of Oct 27 he is into his third day of Chemo treatment.

Doctors visits and treatment locally and in Anchorage (a plane ride away from Kodiak) will be costly. Thus we invite you to support Hiromi and his family in any way possible.
Please continue to pray for Hiromi's quick recovery and cure from Leukemia CML.
With Gratitude,
The Kodiak Family Church

Update: Oct. 26
Hiromi is recovering from the bleeding and lost blood. Three days have passed since the bleeding stopped and he can now eat soft foods. Hiromi started receiving Chemo treatment yesterday and his white blood cell counts are showing improvement. When he came to Anchorage, his level was 151k but it's since gone down to 72k. However, a normal level is between 3.8k to 9.8k so there's still a ways to go. Another concern is his low Hemoglobin level. It's only 6.6. where a normal level should be around 13 to 17. If it's less than 7, a blood transfusion is necessary, so he'll most likely get a blood transfusion today. Otherwise, Hiromi is getting back his energy and has start walking as exercise, watching some videos, playing games, and he even did some homework.

Update: Oct. 27His hemoglobin level increase to 8.4. It's still lower than normal but it's much better than yesterday. Hiromi finished his 3rd day of chemo and the side effects have been minimal so far. He can eat soft food now and the pain in his mouth from the surgery has reduced a lot. He is getting back some energy to play wii and did some on-line homework. Hopefully, his white blood cell levels will go down to normal soon. They're still at 72k... Thank you for all your love and prayers.
Update morning of Oct 28: Hiromi's blood condition is improving. When we came to Anchorage, WBC(white blood cell) level was 151k but it's down to 67 now! So far, we don't notice too many side effects caused by the Chemo treatment. We strongly feel it's because of everybody's prayer and love.
