Support the Hernandez Family After a Tragic Loss

Hi, our names are Victoria and Andrea, and we are fundraising for Brittany and Augustin Hernandez. It is with deep sadness that we share this devastating loss suffered by the Hernandez family. The joy of having a new addition to their family has turned to sorrow with the passing of their newborn baby girl, Dahlia Elizabeth Hernandez. With the passing of Dahlia, Brittany and Augustin are now faced with trying to find the funds to cover the burial costs.

Dahlia was born on August 1st, 2024. She was born into a family that was anxiously awaiting her arrival to shower her with love and affection. She was the addition to the Hernandez family that made it complete. Whether it be a little smile or squeezing a finger, Dahlia showed love to her family. During the week of August 12th, Dahlia became sick. The doctors diagnosed Dahlia with meningitis. As her condition progressed, her heart became weak. The doctors put Dahlia on an ECMO machine to aid in the heart’s pumping of blood.

During this time, Dahlia was constantly surrounded by the love of her family. The unwavering love that they supplied Dahlia was shown every minute they were at the hospital with her. The pure love that surrounded Dahlia was all she knew during her time on Earth. On August 28th, she returned to heaven.

This is the scenario that every family with a newborn fears. There is no way to prepare for this type of loss. Dahlia is survived by her mother (Brittany), her father (Augustin), and her brother.
