Hi everyone,

My name is Ashley, and I’m the youngest of four. Our family recently lost my dad, Hector, to cancer, and our hearts are completely broken.

We created this GoFundMe to help with the financial hardship this journey has brought. This includes medical expenses, end of life arrangements, everyday costs, and helping my mom move back home to be closer to family. If you feel it in your heart to give, anything truly helps. If not, sharing this or keeping us in your prayers means just as much.

About two years ago, during a family trip, my dad started feeling really sick. What we thought was something minor turned into ampullary cancer. From that moment on, everything changed. He went through radiation, different rounds of chemotherapy, and so many procedures, while my mom stayed by his side every single day.

My dad was battling stage 4 ampullary cancer that spread to multiple areas of his body. Even when we were told there were no more treatment options, we held onto our faith and believed for a miracle. He had already beaten cancer before, and he faced this fight with so much strength.

If you knew my dad, you know who he was. He was funny, always joking, always making people laugh. He loved to dance, loved being around people, and brought so much life wherever he went. He treated my mom, my sister, and me like queens. He never missed a football game for my brothers and showed up to every one of his grandson’s basketball games, always so proud. He was generous and always there for others, and that didn’t stop with just family. Growing up, he always had us giving back, helping with food drives, feeding the homeless, and being involved in the church. We spent so much of our time there, and that’s just who he was. He poured so much into his community and into other people.

This has taken a heavy toll on our family in every way. As we navigate this loss, we’re doing our best to support my mom and handle the financial weight that’s come with everything.

Even through it all, his faith in God never wavered, and we’re holding onto that same faith now. Ultimately, what matters most is the life my dad lived and the impact he had on everyone around him. His love, his laughter, and his faith left a mark that will never fade. We will carry that with us always.

God, we thank You for the life of my dad. Thank You for the love he gave and the legacy he leaves behind. Please bring peace to our hearts and strength for the days ahead. Amen.
