This past spring, our family received the most devastating phone call imaginable. My brother shared that his wife, Heather, had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Heather has already faced more challenges than most. She has lived with multiple sclerosis for much of her adult life, bringing with it years of medical treatments and expenses that few people ever have to endure. Through it all, my brother worked tirelessly to give her the best life possible. He never complained, never asked for help, and met every challenge with strength and love. Together, they accepted life for what it was—beautiful, but undeniably difficult.
After completing her initial rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, we hoped for better news. Sadly, her condition worsened, and she has now spent several weeks in the hospital. Heather has been deemed terminal, and her care has shifted from treatment to comfort and quality of life.
My brother is a hardworking, working-class American who is now facing overwhelming financial strain. Medical bills continue to grow, and he is trying to balance work while spending every possible moment by Heather’s side at the hospital.
So many people have asked how they can help. Right now, the greatest need is financial support to ease the burden during this incredibly painful time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help lift some of the weight and allow my brother to focus on what matters most—being there for Heather.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayer
