We are a family of six—myself, my husband Tyler, and our four young children. In 2018, Tyler was in a car accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Since then, he has faced daily challenges with short-term memory loss and other severe symptoms. Despite everything, Tyler has worked incredibly hard to be the sole provider for our family, never giving up even when things got tough.

In November 2024, Tyler was let go from his job, a place we thought would be safe and supportive. Over the years, the constant job changes and the pressure to keep up have taken a huge toll on Tyler, both mentally and physically. Hearing things like, “Why can’t you remember what you just did?” or “Why aren’t you fast enough?” at work was heartbreaking. As a family, we made the difficult decision for Tyler to apply for disability, but the process has been much longer and more emotionally draining than we ever expected. Tyler has already been denied once and is now on his second request, with a lawyer helping us through it.

This year has brought even more heartache, as we lost Tyler’s dad and his grandma, who lived right next door and was our best friend. We are so grateful for the friends and family who have stood by us, but the challenges have been overwhelming. We are now at a point where we are in the red with no light in sight, and we have to finally ask for outside help—which, if you know our family, isn’t easy for us to do. All funds raised will go directly to our living expenses as we wait and hope for disability support.
