Hello everyone! Thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read this cause. My sister Hayley and her husband Geraden Wilbanks are so excited to welcome handsome little Finnley into their world at the end of May, however unfortunately it will not be an easy road ahead for them.
Finnley has been diagnosed with stage 3 Myelomeningocele, a rare birth defect that occurs when the spine and spinal chord do not form properly. Finnley has a hole in the lower area of his spine that is causing his spinal chord to pull down on his brain, known as an Arnold Chiari malformation. Unfortunately, this is the most severe form of Spinal Bifida, however we do know that there will not be any paralysis which we can not be more thankful for.
The treatment for this involves time-sensitive fetal surgery, which Hayley and Finnley will be undergoing ASAP (as in, just a couple of days from me posting this), along with ongoing therapy and corrective procedures after Finnley is born. This surgery was not even an option 10 years ago, and will be performed by one of the leading surgeons in the country, so Hayley and Finn are in good hands!
Because of the intensity of this procedure, Hayley, who is an elementary school choir teacher, was also required to leave work immediately, and will be on bed rest until the birth at the end of May. I know this has caused additional anxiety as she absolutely LOVES her kids at school (and they love her!) but is also another unexpected layer of financial stress for them.
Any funds that are raised here will go toward medical expenses that come from this very sudden surgery, any extra costs associated with a "high risk birth", and ongoing care for Hayley and Finnley.
If you would like to send a card or gift to Hayley, Geraden, and Finnley, please mail to:

Thank you so much again for any and all donations and love sent their way! <3
