This fundraiser is to help my family pay for the sudden loss of my brother, Hauk. His funeral expenses, along with the lasting financial impacts this loss will have on my dad, Robert Hartmann, and the rest of our family.

My name is Isabella. I’m one of Hauk’s sisters, and I am asking for your immediate help. Late Monday evening, November 3rd, we lost Hauk to suicide. Hauk had just celebrated his 27th birthday on October 31st. This loss has come with great struggle as death by suicide is different from other grief.  My brother was an extremely hardworking and loving man. He enjoyed building and working with his hands by spending time in carpentry. He adored spending time outdoors with his beloved friends. Hauk was also wonderful around children and animals.  Hauk is the older brother to my younger sister, Rayna, and I, as well as a deeply loved son to my widowed dad. Hauk struggled for many years with addiction and alcoholism and I am relieved to know that he is no longer in pain and has been reunited with our mom, Melissa. Addiction is a disease that can affect anyone, and this is a time where it is affecting my family and I more than ever. We have lost someone we shared a vital part of our life with and we have the rest of our lives to spend without our loved one. We plan on honoring the wonderful life Hauk had created and shared with us and we want to share that memorial with all of his loved ones and community. We are currently in the process of making arrangements.

This fundraiser will help my dad with living expenses as Hauk was a reliable tenant to him, in addition to helping cover funeral expenses, cremation services, burial, insurance related costs, and the mourning period for our family.
