Hi everyone. We have never expected that, but recently, we have been informed that one of our Eastwood Hanley Little Eagles U8s players - Harrison Gratton, was diagnosed with acute leukaemia, a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This type of cancer is life-threatening and aggressive and requires immediate initiation of therapy and timely treatment.
When his family found out about his illness, Harrison was immediately admitted to Birmingham's hospital. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy and specialist treatment, which will last from 4 to 6 weeks. Regrettably, according to the doctors, the treatment may take up to 5 years.
As you can imagine, he is up and down and doesn't feel well.
Obviously, this is a very challenging time for Harrison and his family. His parents must spend much time in the hospital, along with their two other children.
It is also shocking news for our community; truthfully, as an Eastwood Hanley football club, we would like to support Harrisson and his family.
Therefore, we started a crowdfunding campaign through GoFundMe, one of the most trusted online fundraising platforms, to raise money for Harrison and his family.
We would appreciate your donations and support for Harrison and his family during these challenging times. All contributions and every penny counts!
We also believe in the power of social networks, so please share as much as you can!
Thank you for all your donations; we appreciate it. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out anytime.
We will keep you posted on the progress, and as soon as we have any updates from Harrison's family, we will spread the word.
Eastwood Hanley would like to thank you very much again for your support!
