Support for Harrison and Kelsie’s Recovery

Matt and Kelsie, my brother and sister-in-law, are walking through every parent’s worst nightmare. What was supposed to be a routine delivery of their healthy baby boy turned into a life-threatening emergency in a matter of moments.

Kelsie suffered a ruptured uterus and required immediate, life-saving surgery to save both her life and their newborn son, Harrison. Prior to surgery, Harrison went without oxygen for over 5 minutes. When Harrison was born, he was not breathing and had to be revived for over two minutes. Those first critical minutes without oxygen were crucial.

Harrison is now in the NICU at Johns Hopkins, where he has been fighting with incredible strength. He is moving and alert, and is completing 72 hours of therapeutic cooling to help protect his brain. An MRI has now confirmed that Harrison did sustain a brain injury. At this time, doctors do not yet know the full extent or what this will mean for his future. We are in a waiting period filled with both uncertainty and hope.

Kelsie is recovering from major surgery and remains hospitalized as she regains her strength—still separated from Harrison during these critical early days. Due to the extent of surgery and high probability of infection she will remain hospitalized for an unknown amount of time.

This family is facing emotional, physical, and financial strain all at once. We are raising funds to help cover mounting medical expenses, travel between hospitals, and the many unknowns in the days and weeks ahead. Your support will allow Matt and Kelsie to focus fully on being present for Harrison and for each other during this critical time.

Matt and Kelsie above all else are asking for your prayers. In this uncertain moment, we are asking you to stand with them in faith. If you feel led to give, any donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference and help ease the burden they are carrying right now. Most importantly, please continue to lift them up in prayer. We are believing for healing, strength, and a miracle for Harrison.

Welcome to the world, Harrison Meyer Nesbitt. Born 4/16/2026, 7lbs 10oz, 19 3/4 inches long.
