On March 7th, my daughter-in-law Hannah went in for a routine induction. Baby Jack did not arrive until March 9th and had to be delivered via emergency C-section. There were many complications, including a ruptured artery and multiple internal injuries, which resulted in a 5+ hour surgery for Hannah. It was a frightening and exhausting experience for our family.

Baby Jack is currently in the ICU with breathing difficulties and some blood around the back of his skull. He is stable but needs extra care and monitoring. Paul and Hannah are first-time parents, and Hannah has not been at her new job long enough to qualify for FMLA. She will need at least 6-8 weeks to heal, and the family is facing significant medical bills and living expenses during this time.
