On the morning of May 25th, 2026, my father, Hal, suffered a devastating stroke. He was taken by ambulance to Murray Calloway County Hospital and then life flighted to Tri Star Centennial Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain stem. The stroke has left him paralyzed from the neck down and unable to fully breathe on his own. Despite these challenges, Hal is able to understand everything being said and can communicate by blinking his eyes. Our family is facing heartbreaking decisions, and the suddenness of this crisis has been overwhelming.

Hal is the epitome of health and vitality. He was training for a 500K Ultra Marathon in July and had just retired this year at age 65. He and my mother were finally enjoying their golden years together, but now they are on a fixed income and facing mounting medical bills. Anything donated will help cover the cost of hospital stays, ambulance and life flight services, meals, and travel expenses for our family, allowing us to focus on Hal.

I never thought my family would be in a position to ask for help, and my mother does not know I am doing this. Money is the last thing on her mind right now.
