GoFundMe Story — Help Haley & Corbeck’s Family With Nowhere to Go After the Mount Vernon Flood
Hello, my name is Haley, and I’m reaching out on behalf of our entire family — myself, my partner Corbeck, our son Corbeck Jr. (who turns 1 today, 12/12), our niece Jaelynn (8 years old), our nephews Loki (6 years old) and Leighton (just turned 13), and Corbeck’s parents, Nan and Guy. We also have another baby on the way.
We live in Mount Vernon off Francis Rd, and just days ago our home was swallowed by floodwaters. In a matter of hours, everything we owned was ruined. We didn’t just lose belongings — we lost our home, our stability, and our sense of safety. Right now, our entire family has nowhere to go, and that reality has been terrifying.
We’re trying to keep eight people, three dogs (including 2 emotional support animals), and a baby — with another on the way — together and warm, but we have no stable place to stay. The Red Cross shelter wasn’t an option because they required our dogs to be crated in a separate room, something our family simply could not handle emotionally after losing everything.
We lost all of our food, hygiene items, and all of our everyday essentials like dishes, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Watching the kids try to understand why they can’t go home has been one of the hardest parts. Their routine and structure are the most important things for them and obviously that's not happening right now. Instead of preparing for our son’s first birthday, we’re trying to figure out where he will sleep tonight.
On top of everything, my partner and I lost all of the tools and paperwork from our small business — the thing we worked tirelessly to build over the last two years. Without those tools, we have no income and no way to start again on our own.
We are raising funds to help with:
Emergency housing and a safe place to stay
Clothing, food, and hygiene essentials
Baby items for our one-year-old and unborn child
Replacing the tools and equipment needed to rebuild our small business
Recovering important documents lost in the flood
We never imagined being here — homeless, exhausted, grieving our home, and doing everything we can to keep our family safe and together. Any support, whether financial, sharing our story, or offering kind words, means more than we can express.
From our whole family: thank you for seeing us, for caring, and for helping us find hope again.
