In the early hours of August 12th, Hakubi crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 16. While he lived a long life, he was taken from his family far too soon, and far too sudden. Hakubi touched the lives of many, and it was no secret that he was immensely loved

In the last year of his life, his health took a sudden turn— losing his sight, his hearing, and his heart murmur worsening. However, he continued to push through and lived his life through the use of a stroller, still determined to see the world. Ultimately, his kidneys started failing, which shocked everyone. Alex took Hakubi to the hospital on August 11th, hoping he would recover and get just a bit more time with her old pup. The next morning Alex got a phone call with devastating news.
