Hailey’s world changed when her son, Elyam, arrived at just 23 weeks premature. Since his birth, Elyam has been fighting for his life in the NICU, and now faces a transfer to another hospital for urgent surgery on his intestine. Doctors are also monitoring a vessel in his heart that may require surgery. Through all of this, Hailey has remained by her son’s side, even as she recovers from her own serious complications after a C-section. She is currently attached to a wound vac and unable to work, while her husband does everything he can to keep up with bills and support their family from home.
