Hi everyone! My name is Greg Ratliff and I've been plagued with medical issues for quite a while which really manifested when I hit black ice and totaled my Ford Ranger. I had already lost the vision in my left eye as well as having 3 heart attacks due to coronary artery disease, but this past year it was discovered that I have a very rare autoimmune disease called Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman's disease which was attacking all of my organs, as well as them finding that I had 2 cancerous tumors in my bladder. They removed them twice but they returned as well as 1 new tumor which I recently had removed once again. At any rate, the Castleman's disease has caused me to need an electric wheelchair to get around but my insurance wants me to have a ramp in place before giving me the wheelchair. This disease has also resulted in my kidneys failing but the chemo for Castleman's has them stabilized at 29% functionality for now. The many trips to OSU for treatments has totally depleted our cash supply and now they've added new chemo to keep the bladder cancer from returning and all this has taken a huge toll not only on my body but our finances as well. I didn't want to ask for help but my needs for wheelchair accessories is a pressing matter. In addition to the ramp they also want me to have a trailer hitch put on my wife's car, (I stopped driving in 2012 due to the eye disease) along with a carrier for the wheelchair. All of this is overwhelming to say the least and we are both physically and financially depleted. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated, especially since I haven't left my home in over 5 years except for going to my doctor's appointments and to hospitals.
