Support for Graysen
Donation protected
My sweet two-year-old nephew, Graysen, took a hard fall on his head a little over a month ago. A CT scan at the emergency department incidentally found a lesion on his brain. A couple of weeks later, on August 18th, 2023, Graysen had an MRI at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, that revealed a Choroid Plexus tumor measuring 1.7cm. This is a rare tumor in children that involves the cerebrospinal fluid in the ventricles of the brain. Tyler and Katie (Graysen's parents) met with a neurosurgeon and a hematologist on August 31st, and surgery to remove the tumor and biopsy it has been scheduled for September 18th, 2023. The surgery is estimated to take 5 hours with an approximate 5 day stay in the hospital post-op. The lesion is deep in his brain and will require some movement of brain tissue, but the surgeons are confident about its location for removal at this time. The biopsy will determine what kind of treatment and follow up care Graysen may need.
Will you help me surround this family with prayer, love, and support during this frightening and uncertain time? I would also ask and encourage you to donate towards this GoFundMe (all donations go to the Hoyles family) to help relieve any stress over finances with the unknowns of Graysen's medical needs and follow up care.
