One Pitch at a Time for Wes

As a family—parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings—we are coming together to share Wes’s story and ask for your support during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives.

Wes is the heart of our family—a son, grandson, brother, and teammate who brings joy everywhere he goes. Baseball is his passion, and right now, the game he loves has been taken from him.

Since November, Wes has been experiencing sudden episodes where he becomes weak, collapses, and is at times unresponsive. During these moments, he may be unable to move or speak normally, and afterward he is often extremely fatigued and sometimes unable to walk or move his left arm. These episodes are unpredictable and have made it impossible for him to attend school, play baseball, or spend time with friends like he used to.

And that’s what hurts the most—he misses it all. His school friends, his teammates, and being out on the field doing what he loves.

As a family, watching him go through this has been heartbreaking. We would give anything to see him healthy, smiling, and back in his normal routine.

We are currently seeking specialized treatment options that could help Wes, but they are not close to home. Some of the programs that offer the care he needs are as far as 15 hours away, requiring extensive travel, time off work, and time away from home.

The financial burden is overwhelming. The initial evaluation alone can cost between $5,300 and $6,400, and that is just for the first visit. Even more difficult, this cost does not guarantee acceptance into the program—it is only the first step to see if he qualifies.

Like many families, we are facing insurance limitations and significant out-of-pocket expenses while trying to do everything we can to help Wes.

We are asking for your support—whether through a donation, a share, or a prayer. Every bit helps and means more than we can put into words.

Our hope is simple: to get Wes the help he needs so he can return to school, be with his friends, and step back onto the baseball field.

We are taking this journey one pitch at a time.

From our entire family—thank you for standing with Wes.
