Yesterday afternoon (March 29th, 2026), I learned that my grandpa Paul was diagnosed with cancer. It started in his colon and has now spread to his lungs and brain. The doctors cannot operate to remove any of it. He has stage 4 cancer. He was flown to Columbia, Missouri, which is over two hours away from all of our family. Despite the distance, many of us made the trip to visit him and show our support.
Paul is a loving father of three girls, and grandpa of 13 wonderful grandchildren and a great grandpa to one and another one the way. He has always been more than just a grandpa he’s been a supporter and father figure to most of us.
For those who don’t know, my grandpa is extra special to me. I have the privilege of sharing a birthday with him, and I look forward to his “Hey Alainha, happy birthday” phone call every year. I’m hoping we get through this and I continue getting those calls for a while longer. He means so much to everyone in our family—he has always been our rock. We are keeping our faith and trusting God that He has a plan for him, praying that God doesn’t take him from us.
Funds raised will help cover medical bills, transportation, and make sure my grandpa and family can keep their house during this difficult time. Any support, prayers, or shares mean the world to us right now. Thank you for standing with our family and helping us through this difficult time.
