I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my grandmother, a woman who has always been the heart of our family. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, and most selfless people you could ever meet. Anyone who knows her will tell you how she lights up every room, how she never complains, and how she always puts others before herself, even when she’s the one hurting.

My grandma lives in Mexico, and as many people know, the medical system there is not the same as what we have here. Surgeries and treatments must be paid almost entirely out of pocket, and the costs are overwhelming for our family. We are all pitching in everything we can, but the price of her surgery is $8,500, which is really expensive for us, especially after everything she has already gone through.

This is her second battle with cancer. She fought bravely the first time going through a major surgery and rounds of chemo, losing her hair, and facing every challenge with courage and strength. She was so close to finishing her treatment and was excited to finally be cancer-free this December. She talked about how happy she was to enjoy the holidays without medicines, pills, or hospital visits.

But just as we were celebrating the end of her first fight, she received devastating news: the cancer has returned, this time in a different area. Hearing that she has to start all over again broke all of our hearts. No one deserves this, especially someone as loving and gentle as her. Cancer truly affects some of the best people.

Despite everything, she remains brave, hopeful, and determined. Our family is doing everything we can to support her, but the financial burden is more than we can handle alone. That is why I am reaching out for help.
