Richard is the kind of person who brings light into every room. If you know him, you know his positivity, his work ethic, and the way he shows up for others every single day. Just over a month ago, he and his wife welcomed their first baby, a moment that should have been filled with joy. Instead, they were faced with something no parent ever wants. Their new baby, Gracie was born without an immune system and cannot take her home. She is currently in a specialized transplant isolation room and will need a bone marrow transplant at just two months old. Even as she rests, she is going through constant testing, and it’s heartbreaking for her parents to watch their tiny baby go through so much. Every single day, Richard is doing everything he can to hold his family together. After long days at work, he goes home to shower and sterilize before returning to the hospital to spend the night with his wife and daughter. He’s balancing work, home, their dogs, and the emotional weight of it all, just trying to be strong for his family. To make things even more difficult, they lost their health insurance shortly after their baby was born, adding an overwhelming financial burden and scrambling to find new insurance on top of everything else. Richard is not someone who asks for help. But right now, he truly needs it.
