This is a very hard "story" for any mother to have to write. At just 3 years, 3 months old at the time, Gracelynn was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, Syringomyelia and Craniosynostosis. She has had 1 brain surgery, 1 crainial vault expansion surgery with installation of distractors, and a surgery to remove the distractors, all in 2019. She is having another brain surgery in less than 48 hours, 2/20/20. If this surgery does not work than we will be talking about installing a shunt. We are asking for prayers and help anyway we cant get help. We have, since Aug 2019, been fighting with Social Security to get some extra income to help with Gracelynn's medical bills. Her brain surgery in 2019 was $32,000, just for the surgeon. Then you get the bills for the anesthesiologist, PICU stay, medical staff and everything else. The grand total for 1 surgery close to $100,000. This does not include all her MRIs, CTs, etc.. Her insurance, Medicaid, pays for ALL of her Dr appointments and meds, however they barley cover 70% of the cost of the surgeries, hospital stays related to surgeries. As stated, we are trying to fight Social Security to help financially with so many medical bills stacking up. I've spoken with an attorney and the cheapest we can secure an attorney to fight the social security case is $3,000, most want $5,000 minimum. As most of our family and friends know, I am disabled and get 1 SSD check a month, that covers our rent and car/renters insurance bill. My husband, Jeremy works for the County but is only part-time. So money is tight without all these medical bills and trying to get an attorney to fight in court for us to get social security. Now we just feel completely overwhelmed. If you can help by donating anything, that would be a big blessing, even if its only $5, every dollar adds up. If you cant donate, please pray for us and share this with your friends and family. Thank you everyone for all your love and support for Gracelynn and our family.
