Funeral expenses para Gloria Cortes Vargas

My grandma has sadly passed away today. Updates to come. 06/03/25

It is very hard to put into words the situation that my family is and has been going through since May 14. First my grandma from Mexico mother of my father Guadalupe Romero passed away and shortly after on May 18 my grandma, mother of my mom suffered a heart attack where her heart stopped. After what seemed like a good family day turned into the unexpected. My grandma Gloria Cortes Vargas suffered a heart attack causing her heart to stop. Due to the amount of time spent without sufficient oxygen to the brain she has been in coma state and not very well. At this point she has been intubated since here arrival at the hospital and if fully reliant on the vent and machines she connected to that keep her alive. Her condition has progressively gotten worse as the days go by. The doctors have spoken with us since last week and have informed us that she will not come back from this and they have gone everything they can. We are waiting for a miracle.

We are also preparing for the worst being that she has been intubated for an extended period of time and is suffering. Choices are being analyzed, and family has taken time off work to be at her side. My family has to take turns to stay with my grandma in the hospital because Gloria was the pilar of the family. She has given so much to her kids, grandkids, strangers, and anyone in need of help. She is a beautiful human being and gave us more than we asked for always. We would like to ask help of the community to prepare and help with medical and other future expenses.

Gloria Vargas Cortes is a 70-yr old grandma, daughter, mother, sister, who is a beautiful soul. She was kind, caring, and compassionate woman. She was a hard-working stay at home mother, wife and grandma. She took care of all her grandkids and baby sat for many years. She was always cooking yummy food and loved feeding people. She was always offering you a taco anytime you showed up to her house. She always worried about her children and took care of my grandfather who passed away during COVID. In this year alone the family has also suffered the deportation of our uncle, Gloria’s son.

My aunt Lidia, Gloria’s youngest daughter has been the caretaker of Gloria and my grandpa. She has been pregnant on both occasions that we had suffered a death in the family. She also is going through her own health battles herself in the midst of all this. Our family is going through tough battles lately and any form of support whether it be words, a share, or donation whatever it may be. We are more than grateful for. We ask for prayers for the family and Gloria since she was a very firm believer of God. Thank you for your support.

My abuelita Gloria ha fallecido el día de hoy. Gracias por su comprensión. 06/03/25

Es muy difícil expresar con palabras la situación por la que está y ha estado pasando mi familia desde el 14 de mayo. Primero falleció mi abuelita de México, madre de mi padre, Guadalupe Romero, y poco después el 18 de mayo mi abuelita, madre de mi mamá, sufrió un infarto donde su corazón se detuvo. Después de lo que parecía un buen día familiar se convirtió en lo inesperado. Mi abuela Gloria Cortés Vargas sufrió un infarto al corazón que le hizo detenerse por completo su corazón. Debido a la cantidad de tiempo que pasao sin suficiente oxígeno en el cerebro, ha estado en estado de coma y grave su situación médica. En este momento, ella a estado intubada desde su llegada al hospital y depende completamente del respiradero y las máquinas a las que está conectada, la mantienen con vida. Su estado ha empeorado progresivamente con el paso de los días. Los médicos han hablado con nosotros desde la semana pasada y nos han informado de que no volverá de esto a un estado normal y funcional. Además, que ellos ya han hecho todo lo posible por ella. Estamos esperando un milagro de Dios. También nos estamos preparando para lo peor, ya que ha estado intubada durante un período prolongado de tiempo y está sufriendo. Se están analizando las opciones y la familia se ha tomado un tiempo libre del trabajo para estar a su lado. Mi familia actualmente se turnarse para quedarse con mi abuelita en el hospital porque Gloria era el pilar de la familia. Ha dado mucho a sus hijos, nietos, extraños y a cualquiera que necesite ayuda. Ella es un hermoso ser humano y nos dio más de lo que pedimos siempre. Nos gustaría pedir ayuda a la comunidad para prepararse y ayudar con los gastos médicos y otros gastos futuros. Gloria Vargas Cortés es una abuela, hija, madre, hermana, amiga etc., que es un alma hermosa. Era y será una mujer amable, cariñosa y compasiva. Era una madre, esposa y abuela trabajadora que se quedaba en casa. Cuidó de todos sus nietos y cuidaba niños durante muchos años. Siempre estaba cocinando comida deliciosa y le encantaba alimentar a la gente. Siempre te ofrecía un taco cada vez que llegabas a su casa. Siempre se preocupó por sus hijos y cuidó de mi abuelo que falleció durante el COVID. Solo en este año la familia también ha sufrido la deportación de nuestro tío, el hijo de Gloria. Mi tía Lidia, la hija menor de Gloria, ha sido la cuidadora de Gloria y de mi abuelito por años. Ella ha estado embarazada en las dos ocasiones en que hemos sufrido una muerte en la familia, la muerte de sus papas. Ella también está pasando por sus propias batallas de salud en medio de todo esto. Nuestra familia está pasando por duras batallas últimamente y cualquier forma de apoyo, ya sea palabras, un comparte o una donación, lo que sea. Estamos más que agradecidos en recibir. Pedimos oraciones por la familia y por Gloria, ya que ella era una creyente muy firme de Dios. Gracias por su apoyo. Amablemente, Familia Cortés Vargas
