On February 8th, 2026, our beloved Giovanni “Gio” Collazo was rushed to the hospital, and at only 22 years old, he unexpectedly passed away that evening. Our hearts are shattered.

Gio was more than just a son, grandson, nephew, and friend — he was a bright light. He had dreams he was working toward, goals he was excited about, and a future he was building. He loved deeply, especially his girlfriend, Jessica, who he cherished with all his heart. Gio had a quiet strength about him, a kind spirit, and a presence that made those around him feel seen and loved.

This loss has been devastating for our family. His father, Matthew “Matt,” is a single father who is now facing every parent’s worst nightmare — having to bury his own son. No parent is ever prepared for this, emotionally or financially. Gio did not have life or medical insurance, and the sudden costs of the funeral (Celebration of Life) expenses, and future medical bills, have created an overwhelming burden during an already unbearable time.
