Support for Gio - In Loving Memory of Yolanda Márquez Burns

On April 30th, 2025, our beloved Yolanda Marquez Burns passed away shortly after receiving a medical prognosis of illness due to an aggressive type of cancer. She was a young 40 year old mother, who loved spending time with her sons and doing fun activities. She was full of life, laughter and her strongest strength was in encouraging the boys’ individual artistic talents. She proudly shared their music and art with friends and family, giving them the confidence that when they set their mind on something, they could accomplish any goal. Yolanda added a puppy, now adult dog, to their family and her sons cherish him. He is a beautiful, well mannered, Golden Doodle named Canelo. She shared so much joy having Canelo and often spoke about him. She even celebrated Canelo’s birthdays with festive decor and creative dog treats, inviting her sons in celebration of their beloved pet.

Yolanda was more than a daughter, mother, sister, and friend - she was the heart of our family. Her strength, compassion, and radiant spirit lifted everyone around her. She gave selflessly, cared deeply, and made every space she entered warmer with her presence.

Now, in the wake of her sudden passing, her oldest son, Giovanni is facing an unimaginable challenge because he lived with Yolanda and shared household responsibilities and expense.

Recently laid off, he now finds himself in the uncertainty of how he’ll keep living in the home they shared together. On top of mourning the loss of his mother, also with a loss of income, Giovanni is now at risk of losing the space where her memory lives in every room.

Were asking on his behalf for help raising $7,500 to give Giovanni the time and support he needs to mourn, get back on his feet independently and cover housing cost.
