There are no words that make something like this make sense. So, we're not going to try to find them. We're just going to tell you what happened and ask for your help.

What Happened

In what can only be described as an unfathomable tragedy, Mickey fell at the ball fields Monday (3/30) and went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics arrived and fought hard — they got his heart restarted and rushed him to the hospital. But he stopped breathing again, and despite every effort by the medical team, they could not save him. He was here. And then he wasn't. Mickey did not get to say goodbye. His family did not get to prepare. There was no warning, no time to brace for it. Just an ordinary evening that became the worst night of their lives.

Who Mickey Was

Mickey was a husband and a dad — and he took both seriously. He was present, steady, and made the people around him feel like they mattered. Not just a provider — a person. A presence. The guy who was supposed to be there for all of it. His wife Gina — a devoted mom, sister, friend, and neighbor — is now navigating the unimaginable with three young boys at her side. They need their mom, and their mom needs the breathing room to be there for them. Gina has always shown up for her family, friends, and community. Now she needs us to show up for her.

Every dollar raised here goes directly to two things:

• Funeral and burial expenses. Mickey deserves a proper farewell. The family did not have time to prepare for this, and these bills will not wait.

• Ongoing support for the boys. Groceries. School. Sports and activities. The everyday costs of raising three kids doesn’t pause for grief.
